GermOnlineWiki:About

Based on our previous experience with GermOnline we conclude that significant input from life scientists cannot be expectecd under the given circumstances. We therefore abandon the idea of community annotation. We will keep MediaWiki for the time being because researchers might wish to amend report pages with critical information such as conflicting data as well as novel and unexpected roles for known genes. It is our aim to further develop GermOnline as an integrated visualization tool for genome annotation, microarray expression, proteome and protein-network data relevant for sporulation in yeast and germline development in mammals [1].
